Radio: The Small Hours

After midnight, when most television has gone off the air. radio is really coming into its own. To prove its confidence in after-midnight radio, American Airlines Inc. last week went on the air with the first all-sponsored network midnight-to-dawn music program. In Manhattan. CBS radio will carry Music 'til Dawn from midnight to 5:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Five other CBS stations (in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.) will operate their own Music 'til Dawn for American Airlines, but on an independent basis. Format: light recorded music, news, local weather reports.
