After two weeks of trial and 3½ hours of deliberation, a military court in Athens last week handed down its verdict in Greece's mass Communist trial. It had listened to a story, startling in its detail, of how Greek Communists and fellow travelers, directed by radio from Communist countries and financed by funds smuggled from abroad, had infiltrated the Greek parliament and press, and channeled Greek political and military secrets to the Cominform (TIME, Feb. 25).
