The Defense Department last week reported 253 more U.S. casualties (including 35 killed in action) in Korea. The smallest weekly list of the war, it brought total U.S. casualties to 79,650. The breakdown:

CAPTURED 169
Total casualties by services: Army, 64,954; Marine Corps, 13,073; Navy, 940; Air Force, 683.
