By the narrow margin of three votes (45-42), the Senate last week confirmed bumbling Albert C. Beeson as a member of the National Labor Relations Board. Leading the Democratic attack, Alabama's Lister Hill charged that Beeson had "misled and deceived" the Senate Labor Committee in his stumbling, backtracking testimony (TIME, Feb. 15). "Mr. Beeson knowingly and intentionally made no fewer than five positive statements which have proved to be as false as the statements of Ananias," roared West Virginia's Matt Neely.
