¶Most acne sufferers waste their time and money looking for magical skin nostrums. The University of Virginia's Dr. Clayton E. Wheeler, writing in the current G.P., the magazine of the American Academy of General Practice, offers simpier advice: use ordinary toilet soap. Only in severe cases of inflammatory skin disease is a doctor's prescription necessary. People bothered with any sort of acne, however, should avoid letting furs and woolens come in contact with the skin and should keep away from oils and greases.
