In an unusual newspaper advertisement this week, North American Aviation, Inc. appealed to "any industry, industry group or industry-government combination" to join with it in building "an atomic power-generating pilot plant right now." Such a plant has been designed by North American. The company, makers of the famed Sabre jet, said that only the construction of such a pilot plant could provide "the answers to vital practical questions regarding the use of atomic energy." Cost of the plant: about $10 million.
