In Caravaggio, Italy, after being robbed of 130,000 lire ($208), Mrs. Giacomina Cerutti received an envelope containing 5,000 lire ($8) and an unsigned note: "Dear Madam, it is I who stole your purse. Be assured you will get your money back . . . Will send you 5,000 lire ($8) monthly."
