From door to door in Atlanta last week went the Atlanta Journal's Reporter John Keasler; he was out to test the hoarding instinct of housewives. In his bag he had seven pepper grinders and at each door he solemnly told housewives that "ground black pepper will be scarce" and they better buy a grinder and grind their own. In six hours, Reporter Keasler sold his grinders and this week in the Journal he gleefully told how housewives 1) will buy anything if they think it's a bargain, and 2) pay no attention to what salesmen say.
