Evangelist Billy Graham, 31 (TIME, March 20), was still preaching to the biggest congregations in the U.S. Winding up a six-week revival meeting last week in a specially erected tabernacle in Portland, Ore., he had run up an amazing record: 632,000 attendance, 8,000 conversions.
