Tito's Yugoslavia last week accused Stalin's Bulgaria of sending armed patrols across the frontier three times in one day. Shots were exchanged and a Bulgarian soldier was killed on Yugoslav territory.
The "incidents" came after a flow of recent reports that Bulgaria is building up troop concentrations on its Yugoslav border. At week's end, the Moscow radio accused Tito of "playing Syngman Rhee's role." Whether and when Moscow would try to inflict Syngman Rhee's fate on Tito was the Kremlin's secret.
