TEXTILES: Warm & Washable

At a fashion show in Burlington Mills Corp.'s Manhattan office last week, the textile company showed the public something it has never seen before. Bur-Mill paraded dresses, evening gowns, men's bathing trunks and men's & women's suits of Du Font's new synthetic, Orion (TIME, March 20). The garments were washable, wrinkle-resistant, warm to the touch, and, unlike nylon, were porous.
