After "fiddlin' and playin' " with designs for ten years, Dallas' Frigikar Corp. finally had what it wanted last week: a refrigerating unit which will cool an automobile. Fitting compactly under the hood and in the trunk compartment, the Frigikar apparatus will reduce a car's interior temperature from 100° to 70° in a matter of minutes. Price: a cool $595.
In hot and wealthy Texas, Frigikar was not alone in the car-cooling market. Fort Worth's ARA Manufacturing Co. has already sold 79 of its "Refrigairs" at the same price. But Frigikar soon hopes to make a big improvement:...
