¶ For the first two-thirds of the three-mile I.R.A. regatta, Cornell's varsity crew had a hard time getting any real run on its boat. Then Stroke Phil Gravink pushed the beat to 32 and the Big Red shell began to skip across wind-chopped Lake Onondaga.
