Moving down one notch from the big question, the United Press last week polled Republican state chairmen on point No. 2: "On the assumption that President Eisenhower will run, who is your choice for Vice President? Please indicate whether you feel strongly for or against Vice President Nixon." Results: for Nixon without qualification, 25; for Nixon but "it's up to Ike," 11; for whomever the President wants, 4; for others, 2; no comment, 6.
