Among them: ¶Landlords or village despots—4,970,000. ¶Kuomintang (Nationalist) reactionaries—2,950,000. ¶Bandits—2,600,000. ¶Treacherous merchants—875,663. ¶Slave laborers impressed into the Red army and worked to death or assigned to the suicide units used in "human sea" assaults—2,127,640.
