London Asiatic Rubber & Produce Co. Ltd., with properties in Malaya, issued a report to comfort its stockholders:
"But for the enemy occupation the financial results for the year would have been very satisfactory. . . . At the time of the enemy occupation the estates were in good condition and were among the cheapest producers. . . . If the estates, etc., are recovered without having sustained very serious damage, the prospects of this company should again compare very favorably with those of any other rubber producer in the East."
