Irene Dunne, who wanted to teach music before she became a cinecomedienne, was made an honorary Doctor of Music by the Chicago Musical College.

Edward Johnson, general manager of the Metropolitan Opera, got the same degree from the same college.

Theresa Helburn, directress of the Theatre Guild, copped an honorary Master's degree from Tufts. Other kudos-collectors: Secretary of State Stettinius, Doctor of Laws (Columbia); Georgia's Senator Walter F. George, Doctor of Laws (Columbia).
