How to survive in wartime, in the seaman's hazardous trade, is the subject of a practical handbook for U.S. merchant seamen, to be published next week. A few hints from Safety for Seamen:

¶ On the beach: "Get over the effects [of drinking] as quickly as possible. Take plenty of fluids, a good diet and give yourself three yeast tablets three times a day."
