This year up popped a brash Republican to take a crack at Invincible Charlie. Squat, bespectacled Attorney Arthur M. Geary is no glamor boy, is considered a nuisance by most Oregon G.O.P. leaders. But he slung out a slogan that no one could ignore: "MacArthur v. McNaryism."
