Religion: Pope Proposes

On the third Christmas of his reign, Pope Pius XII for the third time out lined in a worldwide Christmas broadcast five essential points for a just and durable peace. Somber and pessimistic in the face of the steadily growing conflict, he proclaimed that there must be "no place for" 1) any kind of aggression; 2) oppression of minorities; 3) any monopoly of economic resources or raw materials; 4) total war or armament races; 5) persecution of religion.
