She is still the epitome of the U.S. working girlnonchalant, wise-eyed, self-sufficient, heaven-protected. Her performance as Janie The Beautiful Phone Girl, whose moonstruck propensity for accepting honorable proposals lands her in three simultaneous engagements, is adroitly comic.
