For three days in secret last week French Senators peppered dapper new Premier Paul Reynaud about Allied conduct of the war. Then they let the public in and gave the Premier a big cheer. Dry old President of the Senate Jules Jeanneney said M. Reynaud had "fully satisfied the Senate." Cried Senator James (Three-Star) Hennessy: "It seems to me we can thank the Government for the masterly way in which it has answered the questions of our committees."
Meanwhile the noisy and fickle Chamber, which came within one vote of upsetting the Reynaud...
