Fourteen months after Test Baker (the underwater atom-bomb explosion), Bikini Atoll is safe for human settlersif they don't stay more than a year. Such was the cautious word last week from two U.S. scientists, Drs. William H. Hamill and Russell R. Williams, Notre Dame chemistry professors.
They had been there themselves for five weeks, had even swum in the lagoon and drunk a little of its salt water.
