Religion: Time for Action

The 50,000 Catholic Action delegates from 19 countries poured into Rome for a rally. Catholic Action has been defined as "the participation of the laity in the apostolate of the hierarchy." Last week Catholic Action got its heaviest assignment—fighting Communism.

Climax of the rally was a Sunday mass meeting in St. Peter's Square to hear the Pope's address. The blunt speech left little doubt about the urgency of the Church's fight with world Communism.
