U.S. war production climbed another high plateau. Happily, WPBoss Donald Nelson summed up October:
> Overall output scored its biggest monthly gain since April; 5% over September.
>Aircraft was up 10% in number and value. A heartening 8,362 planes rolled off. (One year's production at this rate would be more than 100,000 planes.)
> Ammunition up 11%; ships up 5%; communications equipment (including radar) up 9%.
>Down 11% (according to plan) were combat vehicles, mostly tanks. Reasons: changed battle emphasis.
