Her request for emergency contributions, sent out several weeks ago to The Nation's friends and subscribers (TIME, March 1), clicked. Reported Editor Kirchwey: "The response . . . has been so generous and so prompt that I feel certain . . . The Nation's immediate future is secure. . . ."
