America's No. 1 Presbyterian of the year was picked last week. He is Dr. Stuart Nye Hutchison of Pittsburgh's East Liberty Church, who was elected Moderator (to serve for one year) at his church's 154th General Assembly at Milwaukee.

Squarejawed, methodical Moderator Hutchison (whose middle name Nye brought him the Lafayette College nickname "Bill" he still goes by) turned 65 the day before his election, and he owes his election to the votes of the Conservative majority.
