In the current report of the Field Museum, Chicago, Karl P. Schmidt, assistant curator of reptiles, announced that he had received a rare Texas plated lizard, which he had long wanted. Found in a crate of lettuce by a grocer of Deerfield, Ill., it had come as a stowaway from southern Texas.
