Once gaudy showplaces, seething with harlotry and fantastic crime, the Chinatowns of San Francisco, New York City, Boston, Chicago have had their splendor wiped away by police cleanup squads during a decade. Modern Chinatowns stand revealed as parts of the surrounding slums.
