Education: At the Universities

On the following campuses last week the following events made news: ¶ At Harvard, the Board of Overseers approved the election by the Faculty of Arts & Sciences of a council of 60 representatives, through which President Conant hopes to restore the faculty's voice in administrative affairs.

¶ At the Institute for Advanced Study, haven for higher mathematicians in Princeton, receipt of an anonymous gift of $1,000,000 was announced. It will found a school of economics & politics at "an indefinite future date."
