Last week, the Josiah Macy Jr. Fund, created six months ago by Mrs. Walter Graeme Ladd (of the rich New Jersey Macy family), established a fellowship to pay the expenses of an assistant for Dr. Einstein. First incumbent will be Dr. Einstein's good friend and familiar, Dr. Walter Mayer, mathematician at the University of Vienna.
