Medicine: Rabid Lion

A California girl was bitten by a mountain lion and apparently recovered. But about seven weeks later she developed hydrophobia and died. It is unusual for mountain lions to attack human beings unprovoked, and this is the first instance on record of rabies in this animal, though it is occasionally found in various domestic animals other than dogs. Anti-rabic treatment should be taken as precaution whenever a human is bitten by an animal.
