The Press: Make a Wish

In Montreal last week, interviewers caught a visiting British press lord in a wistful, wishful mood. Said slim Lord Rothermere, publisher of three big London papers (the Daily Mail, the Sunday Dispatch, the Evening News) which, like most of the paper-shy English press, have only recently been allowed to print more than a slim four pages: "These terrific, fat New York papers make me envious, and I can't see us turning them out for some time yet. ... I think a 16-page paper would be ideal—enough of everything and not too much of anything."
