Religion: Diversity?

The United Nations General Assembly, meeting in New York last week, was not opened with prayer. Official reason: "Too much diversity of faith."

In the opening ceremonies, the only reference to God was made by the President of the United States. Said Baptist Harry Truman at the close of his address: "May Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, guide us and sustain us as we seek to bring peace everlasting to the world. With His help we shall succeed."
