Last week the Senate:

¶ Voted down a proposed Constitutional amendment to grant "equality of rights under the law" to women.

¶ Sent to the White House the $2.6 billion third deficiency bill, the $1.6 billion Treasury-Post Office appropriaton.

¶ Rejected the President's proposal for consolidating all federal housing agencies into one bureau; approved two other Government reorganization plans.

¶ Sent to Senate-House conference the House's badly mangled version of the McMahon atomic energy bill, which would: 1) establish military representation on the control commission and licensing board; 2) permit the death penalty for security violators; 3) authorize manufacture of atom...
