Motto for Americans?

Allow me to applaud your answer to Rev. Otis Moore [TIME, Letters July 8]: "Hate nobodybut keep your eyes peeled."
I think that would make an excellent motto for Americans. So many of us pray: "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us," and then use up all the rest of our time hating.
