Townsman, Roger Babson, noted for his goatee and his dire predictions, said: "Boston will be destroyed by the atom bomb. . . .The United Nations has not the power to prevent such until it is made over into a real World Government . . . we know that the American people will never vote to do so until . . . after our large coastal cities have been ruined."
