ATOMIC AGE: The Last Frontier

Among the millions of words uttered last week about war, peace and the atom, two simple statements were memorable:

Said Bulgarian Foreign Minister Petko Staynoff at a press conference in Sofia: "In these days of atom bombs and huge air power it is immaterial whether a frontier is ten kilometers north or south."

Said Elder Statesman Henry L. Stimson in Harper's: "The focus of the problem [of ending war] does not lie in the atom; it resides in the hearts of men."
