private heartburning, the WACs finally junked it in favor of a
jauntier, less severe overseas cap.
Last week the Treasury Department was glumly trying to sell 76,712
discarded caps (at $2.20 each), had shown them to milliners, UNRRA and
FEA officials, buyers for prisons. Sales to date: 0.
