Education: Rebel's Seed

The descendant of a rebellious Virginian, hanged in 1676 by England's Charles II, was preparing last week to teach U.S. history at Oxford. He is tall, blue-eyed Thomas Jefferson ("The Colonel") Wertenbaker, Princeton's Edwards Professor of American History (The Founding of American Civilization). Princeton announced last week that he would shortly leave to fill Oxford's Harold Vyvyan Harmsworth Chair.
