The most popular sport with U.S.

troops overseas is volleyball. Last week the Army's Special Service Division cited the game's advantages — advantages-simple equipment, a small court easy to camouflage, plenty of action for every player—and said they had shipped more volleyballs overseas than any other item of sports equipment.

Three balls and two nets (treated for tropical use) are standard in the Army's recreation "A" kit, of which 33,000 have been shipped. Among the kit's 215 other items: 36 decks of cards, dice, a dozen baseballs, Hoyle's Book of Rules.
