Army & Navy - OPERATIONS: The Nose Knows

Diligently searching its field for war news, Science Service emerged last week with a new U.S. secret weapon in the South Pacific: the human nose. Solemnly the Service quoted jungle-veteran Sergeant Delmar Golden:

"You can smell a battalion of Japs a good 500 yards away."

The enemy's special aromatic quality, in the sergeant's opinion, is accounted for by the prominence of fish heads in the Jap soldier's diet.
