Reports that Field Marshal Erwin Rommel had gone home to Berlin with malaria or to Russia with honor, and that Field Marshal Albert Kesselring had assumed supreme command in Tunisia (TIME, April 26), were last week denied by Berlin. Said a High Command spokesman: "Rommel is personally directing opera tions in North Africa. The entire cam paign has been designed in all strategical details by Rommel."
