The German radio announced last week that most stock exchanges will be closed for the duration, and that daily stock quotations (already under terrific pressure as the result of black news from the front) must cease. At the same time it was announced that a hundred thousand retail shops must close by March 15, and that the Nazi Party will set up a huge communal feeding center with its own slaughterhouse "in case of a sudden and large-scale emergency."
