The nation's coffee drinkers got the official bad news this week: after Nov. 28 they get one pound of coffee every five weeks—enough for one cup a day.

Price Boss Leon Henderson said he had announced the rationing in advance to forestall "more confusion and hysteria than even now exists on the subject of coffee." Coffee sales will be completely halted for a week before rationing begins. Then sugar ration stamp No. 28 will become coffee ration stamp No. 1.
