Art: Palace Poll

Of the people who went to San Francisco's Golden Gate International Exposition last year, one in five dropped in at the Palace of Fine Arts to see the $30,000,000 collection of European masterpieces. This summer the Palace had to make heavy substitutions in its show (TIME, June 24), and Palace officials have been curious about its popularity. They took a poll. Results, tabulated last week, were disappointing.
