In the name of National Defense they were to be asked to pay more taxes, spend less for Relief, less for the farmers, less for roads, less to fight syphilis. To $7,643,274,643 spent by their Army & Navy since 1934, they and their Congress were asked to add a mountainous $2,309,445,246.
