In Chicago, plans were afoot last week for
a World's Fair Symphony Band, to be sent, after a Chicago contest, to
other U. S. cities to advertise the 1933 World's Fair. Chicago
musicians, under famed U. S. bandmasters, will compete this summer in
Chicago parks. The Fair-conscious Chicago Daily News guaranteed funds
for five concerts, published a plea for funds for 40 more.
