ALIENS: Signing Up

With the results of the registration of aliens last fall on hand, the Department of Justice announced last week that there were fewer than 4,750,000 aliens in the U.S. (compared to 6,284,613 in 1930), and of that number 1,755,000 (37%) have applied for or taken out first or second citizenship papers.
