> On Feb. 8, at the Boston Athletic Association track meet, pony-legged Gregory Rice, Notre Dame '39, ran two miles in 9 min, 3.3 sec., for his twelfth consecutive victory in two years of big-time distance racing.

> On Feb. 15, at the New York Athletic Club Games, Greg Rice set a new world's record for two miles: 8:53.4.

> On Feb. 22, at the National A. A. U.championship meet, Greg Rice set a new world's record for three miles: 13:51.
